Once a good man told me: “It’s never too late to change your professional status, especially when you strive for better results”. People probably get only a few valuable tips in their life, but this is definitely one of them.

Spas Kolaksazov is a student in Slovakia. He chose to pursue his master’s degree in finance, although he has an active practice as a violinist. He manages to combine work and study without these two to interfere. And this is not even the end of his development and aspiration.

I chose to study at university “Matey Bell” in the city of Banska Bystrica, Slovakia, since I had one semester here as an Erasmus student and I liked the atmosphere at the university and the teaching. It’s also pretty cheap here. The annual fee is 30 euros.

Until the beginning of last year I was actively working as an accountant and violinist, and the transition was smooth, but at the moment I’m concentrating on the economy and complement my knowledge in this field.

When you have two professions you have the opportunity to receive income from various sources, thus providing some security, but it is difficult to be equally good in both. Sometimes I miss music. I would like playing music to be my hobby.

When most people hear the word accountant they imagine a boring profession behind a desk. In fact, the work of people dealing with finances can be quite interesting. The company where I work regularly organizes training led by experienced financiers from the management in Zurich, Switzerland. Their work involves a lot of traveling and learning, as well as consulting various plants around the world. The work of the financier is associated with strict deadlines which should be observed. Accountants are always in demand. Of course, if you want to develop you should not only know accounting, but also information systems, foreign languages, law.
